IED downs Transco tower in Lanao Norte

An improvised explosive device (IED) severely damaged one of the trasmission towers (Tower No. 15) of the National Transmission Corporation (Transco) in sitio Lamak, Tagoloan, Lanao del Norte. This was believed to be the handiwork of extortionists who have been into this kind of modus operandi to pressure government to give in to their demands. This happened at past 1:00 in the morning on January 20.

Police authorities in Lanao Norte are pursuing the suspected extortionist group.
