Scout Rangers now in ARMM

COTABATO CITY – An army battalion has arrived in Shariff Kabunsuan as part of the 7,000 soldiers who will secure the conduct of elections in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).

Lt. Col. Julieto Ando, 6th Infantry Division spokesperson, said the 500-strong 2nd Scout Ranger Battalion will be deployed to Shariff Kabunsuan and Maguindanao as augmentation force to ensure peaceful and orderly elections on Aug. 11.

The battalion will support police in ensuring the safety of voters.(Edwin Fernandez; INQ.net)
